Ready to blend the romaine, spinach, banana and orange juice!

I decided to make myself a smoothie for breakfast, so I figured I would post this recipe today for a super easy, yummy green smoothie.

This smoothie is made with spinach, romaine, a banana, and orange juice. This green smoothie is fruity and sweet from the orange juice and the banana, so you really won’t end up tasting much of the greens.

Additionally, this green smoothie is high in potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B-6, vitamin C, vitamin E and also contains a variety of minerals including calcium, copper, folate, iron, magnesium and more!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup spinach (a small handful)
  • 1/2 cup chopped romaine (about 2 full leaves)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup orange juice

Start by thoroughly washing and drying your spinach leaves and your romaine leaves. I chopped my romaine to allow my blender to more easily process the greens.

Put your spinach, romaine, banana and orange juice into your blender. Blend on high for about two minutes or until you have reached your desired consistency.

Pour your spinach and romaine green smoothie into a large glass and enjoy immediately!

Note: For a colder smoothie, add in 1/2 cup of ice or replace the banana with a frozen banana. To freeze bananas, simply cut a banana into small pieces and place in a freezer bag in the freezer. Then you’ll have them ready to go whenever you want to make a nice, cold smoothie.
